A great experience from the very first phone call all the way to paying the bill. Every member of the staff is so nice and treats you with respect. They also made me feel comfortable and welcomed. I didn't feel like just another case number. They spoke to me like I was a friend and cared about my concerns and experience there, especially when I was nervous.
I highly recommend them to anyone.

Understanding Traditional Dentures

Traditional removable dentures are an excellent affordable option for patients looking to replace most or all of their teeth on the upper or lower dental arch. They consist of custom-designed prosthetic teeth attached to a gum-colored acrylic base. This base is designed to suction onto the gums and can be used with a dental adhesive for increased stability. Some patients may qualify for a partial denture that fills in the gaps left by several missing teeth. However, in most cases, we recommend extracting a remaining tooth (or teeth) so we can reshape the bone and provide a more comfortable and better-fitting full denture.

Other Types of Dentures

Dr. Curl has meticulously studied state-of-the-art dental technology in the field for nearly 40 years, including developments in dentures. We offer some of the latest dentures to match each patient's unique needs, including the ability to combine dentures with other restorative procedures like dental implants for greater versatility.

Partial Dentures

Partial

As mentioned above, partial dentures replace one or more missing teeth but not the entire row of teeth. A partial denture works well for patients who still have some healthy, natural teeth remaining. Partials are usually secured in the mouth by a metal framework.

Immediate Dentures

Immediate

Immediate dentures are created in the weeks leading up to a procedure so patients can have a pair of dentures immediately after receiving dental work like tooth extractions. They are quick, functional, and can protect any sensitive areas after a dental procedure. While they are custom made, immediate dentures may not fit as well as permanent dentures since they’re based on a model of your mouth before receiving dental work.

Implant-Supported

These dentures use dental implants for increased stability. Dental implants are small titanium posts that replace the roots of a tooth. Implants add structural support and provide the most secure foundation for dentures, which makes the restoration feel more natural. Dental implants can even prevent jawbone deterioration, a long-term side effect of missing teeth. During a consultation, Dr. Curl can evaluate your needs and determine whether dental implants are a good fit for you.

Find Relief for Missing Teeth At Our Veteran-Friendly Practice

Attaching dentures to dental implants is a great way to secure the appliance in your mouth and prevent it from slipping or shifting around. Implant-based dentures offer a more natural-feeling restoration while providing support to your jawbone and the surrounding tissue. If you’re considering any extensive dental work, Dr. Kenneth Curl can evaluate your oral health and determine whether implant-based dentures are right for you.

We serve The Woodlands, Spring, and Conroe, TX, and welcome all veterans and military personnel to our practice. Ask us questions about implant-supported dentures or request a consultation with our dentist by calling:

Consultation

Patients will meet with Dr. Curl for an initial consultation to discuss their goals and their budget. Our dentist will examine your smile and take detailed digital x-rays to get an assessment of your oral health. We will check for tooth infections, periodontal disease, jaw atrophy, and other conditions that can impact the long-term success of your dentures. From here, we will discuss your treatment options and help you select the best type of full or partial dentures for your needs.

Preparatory Work

Our dentist will map your custom treatment plan. This can include preliminary procedures that will increase the long-term success of your dentures. Some patients may need teeth extractions to give them a better foundation for their full denture.

Restoration Design

We take a series of impressions using our own custom techniques to carefully design the look and fit of your dentures. These designs are sent to our trusted dental lab where the prosthetics are handcrafted to your precise specifications. We will provide you with an immediate denture to restore your smile.

Placement

Removable dentures are inspected and adjusted for optimal fit and comfort. Note, it can take time to get used to the feel of the denture in your mouth, but your muscles and gums will adapt. Our dentist will provide you with detailed instructions on aftercare and help you keep your restoration in the best condition for the years to come.
